Running an Ultramarathon for C4C

Jaz’s Story..

I am raising money for a charity very close to my heart, Care4Calais.

I have signed up to three escalating challenges:

  • Colchester Half Marathon as a ‘warm up’ – 22nd of May.
  • RideLondon 100 mile bike ride – 29th of May
  • 100km Salomon Serpent Trail Ultramarathon – 2nd of July
A standard marathon is 42km, so I will be attempting to run 2.5 marathons in one go….

Although these may be challenges to me, the miles covered and pain faced will be nothing to that of the mums, dads, wives, husbands, children, and friends that I help support on a daily basis alongside the rest of the amazing Care4Calais team. Any amount donated will be a huge help with our projects to make these people feel welcome.

In these times of crisis,  Care4Calais are supporting many people seeking asylum from countries such as Eritrea, Sudan, Iran, and other warn-torn regions, as well as those just arriving from Afghanistan and Ukraine.

Many of these people are housed in hotels that have been requisitioned by the Home Office and only have the most basic of provisions.  Care4Calais work to provide these families with a clean change of clothes, new underwear, English lessons, bikes to get to college and access to medical care, legal aid, and social activities.  They work tirelessly to welcome these vulnerable people into our communities

If you’d like to help support this heroic effort any amount is greatly appreciated.
