In 2025, we welcomed Stannah into the Green Diamond Club and co-funded a clean water project in rural Ghana. Delivered with UK charity To Live In H.O.P.E., the borehole well now provides safe, year-round water access for over 10,000 people, including pupils and staff at a local school.
Before the well was installed, the community relied on contaminated or seasonal water sources. The new infrastructure reduces risk of disease, improves sanitation, and allows children — especially girls — to attend school more consistently rather than fetching water.
This partnership reflects Stannah’s ongoing sustainability commitments and shows how IT procurement can support measurable, global impact. It’s also practical: no carbon guesswork, no vague offsets — just a functioning well, clear reporting, and a tangible difference.
For Sumillion, sustainability isn’t a bolt-on. We’re Positive Planet Gold Certified, 100% plant-based in our offices, and we donate 10% of profits to projects like this. But we believe real change comes when customers are part of that journey too. The borehole well is located in Twedie, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of Ghana, where communities previously had to walk miles to access water sources that were often contaminated with parasites and harmful bacteria. Without a reliable source of clean water, families faced significant health risks, with waterborne diseases affecting daily life, education, and overall well-being.
Stannah’s well will be drilled 200 feet deep to reach a secure and uncontaminated groundwater supply, ensuring safe drinking water for over 10,000 people. This project not only provides essential resources but also reduces the time and effort required to fetch water, allowing children to focus on their education and families to thrive. By investing in sustainable infrastructure, Stannah is making a lasting difference, improving health, supporting economic growth, and fostering a more resilient future for Twedie and surrounding villages.
